SE/ISA Flat Water SUP course, 3-4 April 2018, Bournemouth, England

Surf Steps’ Surfing England and ISA (International Surfing Association) presenter Andy Joyce held 2018’s first ISA Flat Water SUP course in England, at Surf Steps Surf and SUP academy of excellence in Bournemouth, Dorset. The courses enable students, once qualified, to coach Flat Water SUP worldwide.

Andy was joined by students from the South and East of England along with the Surfing England and ISA presenter Stuart Parry. They were challenged by the “winter trying to be spring” water and weather conditions.

The practical aspects were run in the sheltered conditions at nearby Christchurch Harbour, near Hengistbury Head.

“Stoked to see the students learn the essential basics, apply the risk management and their skills,” said Andy Joyce. “Nice to hide out in the excellent warm facilities at our training centre after being out in the icy conditions!”

“It was great to be a part of the first ISA SUP course and learn new water skills with Andy despite the cold Easter conditions!” commented Stuart Parry. “Looking forward to running the first course for Era Adventures in Newquay, Cornwall in July! Thanks Andy & Surf Steps!”
